Ponnani was called as “Small Makkah” as it was the emerging centre of Islamic culture and scientific pulses. Most of the students from Asian countries moved to Ponnani with the aim of acquiring knowledge.
Four decades ago, during the period education was refused forthe girls and society was dipped in superstition and ignorance. Some eminent personalities aimed at the renovation of the society and they formed ISS. This institution exists in Ponnani and leaves behind 38 years for the contribution of cultural and educational development.
With the sincere support of the people and community men, Nursery, LP, UP, High School, Higher secondary, Arts college, Computer Centre, etc has come up under ISS. There are around 3000 students studying 150 staff serving in the campus. And there are about 300 students who does their education free of cost.
